A good friend of mine was the chef at
The
Lincklaen House in Cazenovia, Ny. When he called me to
say he was holding a fundraising dinner for
autism awareness I
said I would love to participate! Here are the
centerpiece desserts
we made. BACK |

For each table we made a chocolate branch with spring gum paste flowers,
bulbs, butterflies and birds' nests. |

Each flower pot was formed with
pastillage then hand-painted to look old, cracked and moss covered. |

Hand-made sugar butterflies are attached to the chocolate branches. |

Each centerpiece was unique.
Here we made a pot of magnolias. Some tables had tulips, orchids or
daffodils.

We made bulbs using rice paper (commonly used in oriental cuisine for spring
rolls) and filled them with a cup cake and chocolate.
The roots of the bulbs were Chinese rice noodles |
